Monday in Eskilstuna

Hey, Hey!
Today is the day we will try to see the museums and sites in Eskilstuna. Unfortunately for us, it is Monday and just like in the US, the museums are closed on Mondays. But, we see what we can see and enjoy the beautiful weather and the Audi, Volvo has rented for Love (my companion), and me to travel around Sweden.
Stacked / layered glass sculpture outside the museum we were hoping to visit.

Walking across the bridge, retro photos of life in 1960s Eskilstuna.
Read the English captions below the photos.
 We loved this one.
This one was great too.
Sculpture in the center of a "round-a-bout".
A version of the Profile / Vase visual test...can you see it?
We decided to drive to a castle in the country near Lake Malaren.
Sweden's countryside is very treed and beautiful.

Sculptures dot the sweeping lawn that slopes down to the lake.

Blogspot seems to be cutting me off. Follow me to the next posting to see more of the castle site.

Hey, Hey. Hello in Swedish

We arrived in Sweden at 7:00 AM Sunday morning and hit the streets in Stockholm. This is one of the Royal guards. We did not have much information about the Royal Palace, but from what we could tell, this is mostly a ceremonial / tourist site. I am hoping tomorrow will include more detail about the areas we visit. It doesn't seem as if tourism is high on the Swedish list of priorities. Or, maybe it's the fact that Mike and I have not slept for 48 hours.

We took a ferry and this was one of the many small islands we passed that happened to be inhabited. A very interesting contemporary structure was  built on one side that may have been an outdoor sitting area.
That's it for today.
We are staying in the town of Eskilstuna, west of Stockholm. The Volvo facility is located in this town. My companion named Love and I will be doing exploring and visiting museums tomorrow.
